About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Breanna Bottorf was born on Sunday, June 15, 2003, which was Father’s Day. She was the best Father’s Day gift a guy could ever get. Elizabeth was born four weeks early and that should have been a hint to us that she was going to be, shall we say impatient.  She always insisted on doing things herself. She may have been little to start with, but she was full of life, even from the beginning she was a very determined little girl.  She was always ready to sing you a song or do a little dance for you. She was truly a blessing to her family and brought us much joy and laughter.

Elizabeth made sure from the time she was brought home to start training her dad in the fine art of rocking her to sleep, which he did just about every night of her short life, loving every moment of it.  She was a night owl to say the least.  It was not uncommon to wake up in the middle of the night and find her on the coach sound asleep with the T.V. on.  She eventually got her own T.V. in her room and it stayed on all night, just so we could keep her in her bed.  She was the little grump to wake up in the mornings though.  To many late nights we suppose.  Her companions Fluffy and Toto, her favorite stuff animals were always at her side.  She would not go to bed without them.

Elizabeth was a picky eater which made breakfast, lunch and dinner interesting.  More than once she was the last one at the table until she had eaten the three bites of what ever it was that she didn’t like at the time.  For all of the parents who have caved in and fixed something different to eat from what the rest of the family had, just so that you know your child got something in their belly.  Even though you said you would never do that.  We understand. Elizabeth was our child who taught us that we sometimes do things we said we wouldn’t.  She was quite the fan of sweets though and never had a problem with dessert for some reason. Her favorite candy was peppermints and she always had to have a glass of chocolate milk before she went to sleep.  Only she called it, choco milk instead of chocolate.

Elizabeth loved to play soccer, look at I Spy books and play outside in the dirt. She liked the Wiggles and Dora the Explorer. Her days were spent playing, coloring and just doing kid stuff. She got to go half a year of K-3 preschool at Good Shepherd Lutheran School and enjoyed making new friends there. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Panama City, Florida and loved to go to Sunday school. One of her favorite things to do was to go for boat rides with her daddy. The ride would normally put her to sleep but once there she enjoyed the water and beach. She liked to chase the birds, hunt sea shells and make sand castles. She also liked to ride on her daddy’s lap while he mowed the lawn, which would also put her fast to sleep.

Elizabeth loved animals, especially dogs.  She would lie on the floor and giggle as her dog Trixie would lick her.  Trixie and Elizabeth had much fun running around and around the kitchen playing chase.  She loved her cats Stomper and Grady and any other animal she could pet or touch. She loved to go out in the back yard and catch the baby toads in July when they hatched although she wasn’t too fond of the toads once they got a little bigger. She also loved to go see and feed the goats and donkeys at a nearby farm.

Elizabeth was taken to Heaven on May 24, 2007. Although her time here was short she was adored by her parents, sister, grandparents, uncles, aunts and her church family. We may never know why she had to go so soon but we do know that Heaven got a beautiful little angel that day.
